Get to know Katie:
Katie Lenahan, LCPC, CADC (she/her), is a licensed clinical professional counselor and certified drug and alcohol counselor with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals struggling with eating disorders, body image concerns, and emotional overcontrol. She is the founder and owner of Flexible Mind Counseling, a private practice dedicated to helping clients build psychological flexibility, curiosity, and openness. Katie has worked across all levels of care, from community mental health to residential and hospital-based treatment programs; and formerly served as executive director of a group therapy practice, where she led clinical training and supervision in the treatment of eating disorders and body image inflexibility. She received intensive training in Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT) directly from the treatment’s founder, Dr. Thomas Lynch, and integrates this approach into her work to support clients in cultivating openness, authenticity, and emotional expression.
Grounded in the belief that no one is inherently 'broken' or in need of fixing, Katie brings warmth, humor, and deep compassion to the therapeutic process. Katie is passionate about creating a therapeutic space where clients can heal their relationship with food, their body, and their identity while reconnecting with parts of themselves long silenced by shame.

Michelle is a LPC working as a Senior Regional Director of Clinical Partnerships for Selah House and Odyssey Eating Disorder Network. I’ve held the position of Education Chair for Heartland iaedp since 2021 and I’ve loved supporting this amazingly talented and invested chapter to host clinically excellent continuing education events along the way.
Get to know Andrea:
Dr. Andrea Seefeldt (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist with over a decade of experience helping people reach eating disorder recovery. She received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Adler University and a BS in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin. She completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at Indiana University Counseling and Psychological Services and a post-doctoral fellowship at University of Chicago Student Counseling Services, both with focused training on providing eating disorder treatment to university students
Dr. Seefeldt is the founder of Seefeldt Psychotherapy, a small private practice in Chicago that offers personalized, compassionate, and evidence-based care. While she primarily works with adolescents and young adults with eating disorders, she often works with parents on early identification and recovery support, and treats several related concerns such as OCD, anxiety, perfectionism, low self-worth, and identity development. A committed advocate for social justice, Dr. Seefeldt is particularly passionate about challenging systems of oppression, especially sizism, and has presented on this topic at national and international conferences including IPA, APA, IAEDP, and AED.
Get to know Ashley:
Dr. Ashley Anderson, Psy.D., CEDS is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Illinois. She owns her own practice, Shift Perspective, P.C., where she conducts individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults. She also conducts psychological testing for people of all ages. Dr. Anderson focuses on struggles with eating, grief, trauma, OCD, depression, anxiety, and parenting skills.
Dr. Anderson likes to be involved in organizations that contribute to the field of psychology. She has been a member of the IAEDP since 2016 and she obtained her Certified Eating Disorder Specialist certification in 2019. She is also a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), Illinois Psychological Association (IPA), National Register of Health Service Psychologists, and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT).

Get to know Hannah:
Hannah Podhorzer (she/her) has worked in the eating disorder field for over five years, and is the Senior Marketing Coordinator at The Renfrew Center. Prior to joining the Marketing Department, she began her time at Renfrew as the Professional Relations Representative at The Renfrew Center of Chicago. She received her Bachelor’s Degrees in Communication Design and Public Health, with a minor in African and African-American Studies, from Elon University. Hannah is privileged to serve on Renfrew’s Diversity and Inclusion Task Force and is passionate about health equity in the treatment of eating disorders.

Get to know Ali:
Alison M. Mayer (Ali), NCC, LCPC, is a master’s level clinician in Illinois, who specializes in working with individuals across the lifespan who are struggling with eating disorders (including ARFID and binge eating disorder), depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. Ali completed her undergraduate training at Michigan State University and Fashion Institute of Technology and then went back to school in her late 30’s to receive her master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling at National Louis University.
Ali has been in the field since 2017 and has worked in all levels of care with clients. Ali is currently with Barnes and Klatt as a staff therapist in Mount Prospect, IL.
Ali was appointed to the board of the Heartland Chapter of IAEDP (International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals) in 2023 and before that started as a student volunteer with Heartland Chapter of IAEDP, when she decided to change careers and entered her master's program in 2018. Ali ‘s Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) is pending with IAEDP. She is a passionate advocate for individuals with eating disorders and believes recovery is possible for anyone at any point in their lives.
